Q1.Can I upgrade from MSS300 to MSS350?
No, Winmate Network Player are all sold as a package and not upgradable. The only exception is you can upgrade from Network Player Plus to Network Player Portrait.

Q2.What is Digital Signage?
DIGITAL SIGNAGE refers to the use of digital technology to send messages and images to displays in places frequented by the general public or specific groups. As we look around our daily environment, it is obvious that there are more and more digital messages around us. In the retail stores, digital signage is an electronic form of point-of-sale information- to replace posters, flyers, leaflets, and the other traditional marketing materials. The content may inform customers, entertain them or guide them to certain purchasing decisions. Above all, it must enhance the quality of their shopping experience.

Q3.What digital signage solution does Winmate provide?
Currently Winmate has Media Player and Network Player Gold and Pro in digital signage product line.

Q4.Which product can I add motion detect?
You can add Motion Detect module in Integrated Media Player or Network Player Gold.

Q1.If I would like to test your Network Player, what are the necessary devices I need?
Besides Network Player, you will need one Windows-based PC, one monitor, and one crossover RS45 cable. You can find other accessories such as VGA-DVI cable and adapter from our package.

Q1.What is the CF card used for?
The CF card is used as internal storage for Network Player. All media content must be saved in internal storage first then system reads data from it continuously. Currently 512MB is the standard storage for MSS350 and 1G for MSS550. Bigger Capacity CF card and 2.5” HDD are also available upon request.

Q2.Can I choose the internal storage by myself? Such as replacing the 512MB CF as 1G CF?
It is recommended not to do any modification by user. If you insist and would like to take fully responsibility, please contact our sales representative for storage changing SOP.

Q3.I have one MSS350 box, what components do I need to make it update media through WLAN?
You can easily add a miniPCI WLAN card to the MSS350 and make it update media via wireless LAN. Other components you need are: antenna2, coaxial cable2. Only specific models of miniPCI WLAN card are supported. Please contact our sales representative for detail of certified components.

Q4.I have one MSS350 box, what components do I need to add RS232 function?
You will need RS232 board and cable from us. Please contact our sales representative for detail of certified components.

Q5.What memory card types are compatible with the frame?
Secure Digital Card (SD) Multi Media Card (MMC) Compact Flash (CF) Memory Stick & Memory Stick Pro Microdrive SmartMedia Card

Q6.My memory card is not compatible with the slot, what can I do?
You should be able to buy a memory card adapter that is compatible with one of the supported memory cards. For example, if you own an XD memory card, you can buy an XD to CF adapter and then insert it into the slot.

Q7.Does the Media Player have built-in/onboard memory?
No. The Media Player does not have any internal memory to store media files. You need to use a compatible memory card to store media files.

Q8.Can I insert multiple memory cards at the same time?
Yes. When you have more than one memory cards, the screen will show all types of card have been inserted. Use the remote control to select which card's media you wish to view.

Q9.What is the optimal display resolution for the Media Player?
The Media Player's optimal display resolution is 720x480.

Q10.Which digital signage products support split screen?
Network Player Gold/ Pro system support split screen display.

Q11.Can I use widescreen (16:9) display for media playback?
Yes.

Q12.How does digital signage work?
Control PC (server) sends digital media contents via Intra/Internet and uses dedicated software to remotely manage content updates, schedule changes, and compliance reporting. ‧ The Playback devices (clients) store digital content locally in HDD or Flash Disk. ‧ The media playback appliance deliver the output signal to a digital display (LCD).

Q1.How do I store music files?
Transfer the MP3 file to the memory card using a Memory Card Reader.

Q2.Can I play MPEG-I and MPEG-II files stored on media formats other than Compact Flash?
You can play MPEG-I files properly on any supported media card. You may be able to play MPEG-II files properly if they are capable of high speeds.

Q3.Can I rotate the picture on the screen?
Yes. Simply press the rotate button on the remote control to rotate the frames display. * please note that the rotated picture will return to it's original orientation for the next picture.

Q4.How do you access the slideshow mode (plays MP3 audio files while cycling through your digital pictures)?
Simply press the slideshow button on the remote control.

Q5.What is the operation temperature?
0 to 40 centigrade, humidity 5-85% @ 40°C

Q6.Can I update media content through wireless LAN?
Yes. For Network Player Gold, as long as you have wireless module installed.
